Dear member,

The Soliswiss cooperative has a relief fund with which it can provide one-off financial support to members who have fallen into hardship.

The board has decided that, in view of the particular situation in the Middle East, the relief fund may be used to alleviate the consequences. The board is releasing a tranche of CHF 30,000 specifically for this purpose. Soliswiss is now accepting applications. A maximum amount of CHF 2,500 may be granted per applicant. No recurring payments will be granted. The amount may also be granted as a loan.

Applications should be sent to info@soliswiss.ch with the subject line “Relief Fund”. Applications may be formulated freely. Soliswiss reserves the right to ask follow-up questions and to carry out clarifications.

A jury appointed by the board will review and respond to the applications.

The following will be taken into consideration:

  • The member was already a Soliswiss member before the beginning of the crisis.
  • The applicant is in a serious situation of hardship caused by the war hostilities in the Middle East which they cannot otherwise alleviate. Other options (requests to family, friends and acquaintances as well as to governmental and, where applicable, non-governmental institutions) have been exhausted.
  • The one-off payment is targeted, appropriate and purposeful. It serves as emergency aid in an absolute hardship case, in particular to enable a return to the place of residence, to secure essential basic needs, or to cover costs related to the situation.
  • In deciding whether and how much support will be granted, the following factors may, among others, be taken into account favourably:
    • The hardship is not self-inflicted and is existential
    • Children or helpless persons are involved
    • The chances of a significant reduction or even overcoming the hardship through the Soliswiss contribution are high
    • The person lives in a country affected by the war hostilities
    • The duration of the Soliswiss membership

We kindly ask that you indicate already in the application how the contribution could be transferred in the event that the application is accepted, so that it can reach the applicant safely.

Whether a contribution is granted, and in what amount, as a one-off payment or as a loan, is at the discretion of Soliswiss and will be decided on a case-by-case basis. There is no possibility of appeal.

Legal recourse is excluded. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
